Second animation released!

I teach Adighebza to children at the Circassian Benevolent Association (CBA) of New Jersey. This is the хасэ that serves Adighas living in the area. Currently, we are only able to provide classes one day a week (on Sundays).

Recently, parents asked whether I could prepare materials for children to review while at home.  As a result, I took the main body of Dialogue One in my Adighebza for Beginners series and turned it into a cartoon oriented towards children. As I continue to point out, I have no formal training in Adighebza, linguistics, education or multi-media design, so consider this an experiment. Feedback is always welcome!

By the way, I used a web-based animation platform called GoAnimate to develop this cartoon. As a result, I am not able to host it on Youtube. I have embedded the movie here on my web site, and you can also view the move at its direct link here.

You will notice that there is an option to download the video. Please note that the download fee is charged by GoAnimate. I have nothing to do with this download fee, and I am not able to provide the video for free. None of the money from this video comes to me in any way. That said, it is pretty inexpensive, and you can decide whether you want to download it for yourself.

As always, feedback is welcome!

First animation released!

This web site is a sort of work-in-progress... A lot of my efforts are still experimental in nature. Due to popular feedback, I recently decided to try my hand at animation. You can see my experiment to the left. Enjoy. =)

New stuff!

Lesson 1 has been re-produced. Based on user feedback, I have expanded the lesson to about 20 minutes, and the split it into two 10-minute long pieces. This allows me to post the files to Youtube, making them accessable outside of Facebook. Part A serves as an introduction to the dialogue, while Part B provides practice exercises. I have also produced a "Narrative Chapter" that provides more background on the project, and how to use the audio files.

Lesson 1 (beta) release

Lesson 1 was released in beta form to Facebook. This was my first attempt to pull together all my content and publish in a multi-media, self-instructional format. The file came in at about 17 minutes, which (as I later found out) makes it too long to upload to YouTube.

Instead, it was uploaded to Facebook, and in the course of about a week, roughly 1,500 people joined my Facebook Group. Based on feedback, I will be re-producing Lesson 1 in a format that makes it accessable on Youtube, and also hosting my files here, on Adighas.com.
